Jessica's Success Story

Jessica is a part of the Visions and Voices project. Visions and Voices is a project that works with a group of effected youth and adults enabling them to go out to communities and share their personal stories of hope and success in living with a diagnosis of FASD.

Jessica went to Poplar River to speak with the children and youth in the community. She met the Southeast Child and Family Services staff, spoke to the children and youth at the school and then Jessica and her father did some activities including the Sensory Game with the children and staff at the group home.

Jessica enjoyed her time speaking with the community and suggested, "I never felt nervous in front of them. Playing and helping kids was fun and I enjoyed sharing breakfast, lunch and dinner with them. The food was GREAT!"

Jessica has been invited back to the community to do some further work at the school, with foster families, the group home and the community in general.
