Turn About Brochure

Turnabout is a partnership of families, community groups, local police and provincial agencies. Turnabout will be notified by the police when a child under 12 is involved in an activity that would lead to the child being charged if over 12. Parents, schools, or other agencies may make referrals to Turnabout. Turnabout will try and link the child to a service in his or her community. Turnabout’s goal is to prevent the child from having further conflict with the law. In serious cases, Turnabout will contact the victims following the incident. Turnabout will promote reconciliation between the two parties, such as an apology and a chance for the child to make up in some way for what was done.

Accommodation Counsel for Youth Living with FASD
Legal Aid Manitoba is committed to ensuring equal access to justice for all Manitobans. Young people living with FASD require accommodation so as to ensure equal access to justice. Because of their disability, clients with FASD are more likely to require legal services while being more vulnerable to having their legal rights go unenforced because of an inability to effectively advocate on their own behalf or to obtain the services of a lawyer who understands and can accommodate their needs.
