Objectives & Responsibilities
Each agency has been invited to represent the needs of their families and their communities within this network. It is hoped that each respective agency will eventually be represented both at the community and agency level as well as sending representatives to the larger systems coalitions and network meetings. Regional meetings could include: committee meetings, subcommittee meetings, regional resources, training(s) based on community/agency needs as well as provincial, federal and collaborative events. The goals are inclusive of but not limited to the following:
- Development of collaborative working relationships between the agencies that represent the Southern First Nations Network of Care.
- Representation from different regions of the province to discuss, develop and disseminate information about regional resources respecting cultural similarities and differences within the field of FASD.
- Collaboration to develop/share resources, seek funding through proposal writing, work together to advocate for children and families whom are connected with or at risk of becoming involved with the Child Welfare system.
- The network will provide an opportunity for ongoing basic and advanced training for those working in the field of FASD. A forum for ongoing clinical support will be nurtured.
